ANAQ FOUNDATION

Our goal is to strengthen sickle cell and malnutrition educational and programs and screening campaigns across Africa

ANAQ Foundation For Sickle Cell And Nutrition is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) established in the  year 2014, to take up the challenge of bringing to the attention of the nation the silent effects of sickle cell as well as effects of malnutrition on adults and children, who are the very people, who constitute the country.

OUR GOALS

To strengthen sickle cell educational programs and screening campaigns in local community groups, faith based organizations, educational institutions, and civic organizations.

To demystify commonly held misconceptions about sickle cell disease. Such misconceptions include the fact that sufferers of sickle cell die early. Available facts however indicate that many sickle cell patients have lived long and are enjoying meaningful life.

To collaborate with Sickle Associations and other stakeholders to implement strategies towards addressing the effects of sickle cell conditions in the country.

To support sickle cell screening centers throughout the country where sickle cell patients get together to share and exchange information, ideas, and provide support for each other.

To ensure every newborn baby is screened for sickle cell disease before discharged from the health facility after birth.

To support sickle cell patients who for some reasons needs financial and other support to access quality healthcare.

To educate and create awareness of the need to address micronutrient deficiencies through the use of locally available nutritious foods.

To provide Nutritional Status Assessment for women especially the pregnant and lactating mothers.

To promote balanced eating habits.
