Ama Nyarko Attefuah Quainoo is the President and Founder of ANAQ Foundation for Sickle Cell and Nutrition. She received her Master’s in Business Administration in Human Resource and Bachelor of Education in Secretarial Management from University of Education, Winneba. As the President of ANAQ Foundation, she organises Sickle Cell education and screening for people in communities, churches, schools especially those in deprived areas. Ama Nyarko’s passion and aspiration for the prevention, awareness and treatment of sickle cell disease has earned her recognition on Ghana Non-Communicable Disease (NCDs) as one of the advocators for sickle cell disease. By dent of her hard work, commitment and meticulous working experience in various environments and her continuous search for better ways of delivering care for sickle cell patients, hundreds of people including couples, young men and women, students etc. have gained a lot of knowledge about sickle cell disease through her awareness programs. As a sickle cell patient, she has been a resource person for the past five (5) years on many platforms to share her experience and break the silence on sickle cell disease. She was the host of Wo Mpomu Te Sen (How is your health), the award winning health program for many years on Hello FM every Friday. She is the programs manageress and a broadcast journalist of Hello FM a media organization which is part of Despite Media. She has 21years experienced in teaching and has spent 11 years at Kumasi Senior High Technical School. She is married with two children.
