ANAQ Foundation is continuing its campaign tour into SHS and this time their bus has landed at Ejisuman SHS in the Ashanti Region (KSI) where sickle cell education and screening to help educate over 3,000 students on the importance of knowing their sickle cell status and breast care to combat breast cancer has been done.
ANAQ Foundation in collaboration with Peace and Love Hospital/Breast Care International and Hello fm organised a breast cancer education and screening as well as sickle cell education and screening on mothers day celebration. Thousands of women were educated and screened. find attached some pictures of the program.
SCD is a group of inherited red blood cell disorders. Healthy red blood cells are round, and they move through small blood vessels to carry oxygen to all parts of the body. In someone who has SCD, the red blood cells become hard and sticky and look like a C-shaped farm tool called a “sickle”.
